The Types of Malware

Malware can be classified based on how they get executed, how they spread, and what they do. This classification is not perfect, but, in the sense that the groups often overlap and the difference is often unclear.

Below are 5 types of malware:

(1) Infectious Software. This type of software consists of a computer virus or worm that is called. This type of malware is the most common. A “virus” describes a computer virus than an actual physical viruses that can infect us. Viruses are different from worms in their distribution and in actual operation.

The first type of malware is developing a computer virus. Viruses work and spread in an infected system by attaching itself to other software. In the case of macro viruses, to the document. During the implementation of the program is executed the virus code. The virus spreads in the computer when the software or document they attached themselves transferred from computer to computer.

Back in the day when I was young, just log onto the computer and diskettes trade back and forth, you can rely on the virus is present in the disk occasionally. virus copies itself into an executable file and will run a particular program is activated whenever a particular hard disk or opened.

Computer worm, is used to infect the system, started when the Internet was first used. The worm scans the network of different computers, testing for each system is vulnerable where it can copy itself. From the new base, inside your computer worm started scanning and copying itself to all the files that are vulnerable or process. Although worms and viruses have different meanings and uses, they are now used to denote all types of malware contagious.

computer worm is a stand-alone software and thus requires no other parts of the software to attach themselves. They began as part of the boot process. Worms spread, either by exploiting some vulnerability of the target system, or by using some type of social engineering to trick users into executing them.

(2) The file is hidden. This type of malware used to hide all kinds of activities in a user’s computer. There are different types of hidden files, such as:

(A) A Trojan. This is a trojan horse familiar. They serve the same purpose as a trojan horse myth. You know, one of the Greeks who used to take over Troy. Some trojans are registered on your computer in the form of utility. When a user downloads malware, open doors for other types of malware is introduced into the system.

Trojan horses that can be executed by being part of a piece of otherwise useful software. Trojan horses are attached to the host software manually, they can not infect other pieces of software from the way the virus can, nor can replicate themselves. Trojan horses rely on useful features of host software, which trick users to install them. One of the most dangerous types of Trojan horse is a program that claims to clean your computer of viruses but introducing a virus into your computer.

Cunning mind that created the virus and successfully plants will see a massive outbreak of computer viruses. By introducing the virus into a network via a trojan horse, the creator saw the spread of the virus to other tissues.

(B) Backdoor A. A backdoor is a piece of software that allows access to a computer system, through the normal authentication procedures. This virus creates an alternative door in your structure. This creates a different path or route to the goods. This virus circumvents any security system that is on your computer. Once inside the system through the backdoor, hackers will be able to do whatever they want to do.

There are two groups of backdoors. The first group works much like a Trojan. They were manually entered into other software, executed via their host software and spread by their host software being installed. The second group works more like a worm in that they get executed as part of the boot process and is usually spread by worms carrying them as their payload.

(3) For Profit Malware. There are some bad companies out there that will increase their profits any way they can. This malware comes in the form of a dialer. dialter is a type of malware that runs through your Internet connection, your net connection rerouting through expensive phone lines. This increases your bill that you must pay.A computers that have this malware is forced to call the appropriate phone line and run a huge bill.

(4) An Exploit. A software that attack specific security vulnerabilities. Exploitation is not always malicious in intent – they are often made by security researchers as a way to show that the vulnerability exists. However, they are common components of malicious programs such as network worms.

(5) false or Hoax Virus. There are instances where a virus warning hoax message has been sent stating that the recipient may have a particular virus, along with useful instructions on how to confirm and remove viruses. These messages are almost always ask you to find a particular file and if exists, delete it. In most cases the files they mention is the Windows file system which, if removed, would cause serious trouble walking. If in doubt, run a search on Google for a file name, and you’ll almost certainly find information about it, and every scam recently.
